Notice to Residents of Galena
Good morning, City Halls council meeting for last night was canceled due to no quorum. Our meeting will be held 11/6/2024 Wednesday night at 5pm. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Salary and Benefits:
Entry wage for Police Officer is $22.00 per hour. ($45,760.00 annually).
Work schedule will be 4/10 hour shifts, which will include weekends and holidays.
Health insurance is available through the City of Galena.
Vacation one week after first year, two weeks from 2 – 4 years, three weeks from 5-9 years and four weeks a year after 10 years.
Paid Holidays (13 a year)
Sick leave is earned at a rate of 8 hours a month.
The City of Galena provides all uniforms.
To qualify for the position with the Galena, Missouri Police Department, the applicant must meet the following criteria,
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
Must be a citizen of the United States and reside in the State of Missouri.
Must be of good character, with no felony convictions, pending indictments, or certain misdemeanor offences which include aggressive or violent behavior, a disregard for the safety of others, or misuse of a deadly weapon.
Must possess a valid Missouri Driver’s license.
Must be POST certified with a Missouri Class “A” POST license.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
